Program Philosophy
Master of Science in Information Technology program focuses on producing graduates with advanced academic and professional knowledge and skills. It encourages students to think analytically, conduct research, and apply information technology independently to solve in-depth problems and create innovations that meet the needs of organizations, businesses, and society in the digital age. Instructors provide knowledge, counseling, and guidance, as well as foster student learning in accordance with the objectives.
The program is divided into two study plans: the Academic Plan, which aims to develop researchers and experts in advanced information technology research, and the Professional Plan, which focuses on applying information technology knowledge to produce practical results in organizations.
Furthermore, the program covers two important fields of study today: Information Technology Management, which focuses on the efficient management of information technology systems, and Data Science and Data Engineering, which emphasizes data analysis and processing to create value and support organizational decision-making.
The program emphasizes the importance of lifelong learning and the development of students' potential to create innovations, meet the challenges of the digital age, and lead global change.

Applicant Qualifications
- Complete a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Requirements are in accordance with the Institute's Regulations on Graduate Studies 2022 (Appendix A), the Ministry of Education Announcement on Graduate Curriculum Standards 2022, the Institute's Regulations on Undergraduate Studies, the Waen Nawakorn Project 2017 (Appendix B), and the Institute's Regulations on Advanced Undergraduate Studies with Foreign Higher Education Institutions 2013 (Appendix B).
Additional qualifications include:
- Working hours for research plans (1.1) and (1.2)
- Complete a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from an institution recognized by the Civil Service Commission, or
- Complete a bachelor's degree in a related field and completed at least 30 credits in computer science and information technology (copy of transcripts may be submitted to the faculty for consideration via email at witchayada@it.kmitl.ac.th, or
- Approval from the Graduate Admissions Committee, Faculty of Information Technology, to apply for further study.
- After-hours Study Group (Plan 2)
- Completed a bachelor's degree in any field from an institution recognized by the Civil Service Commission, or
- approved by the Graduate Admissions Committee, Faculty of Information Technology, to apply for further study.
Student Selection
- Must be selected according to the regulations of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang regarding graduate student admissions.
Education System
- A bi-semester system, with each academic year divided into two regular semesters.
- Each regular semester lasts at least 15 weeks.
Teaching and Learning Hours
- After-hours Study Group (Saturday - Sunday): 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM for Plan B or Plan A2
- Working-hour Study Group (Monday - Friday): 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM for Plan A1 and Plan A2
- Semester 1: July - November
- Semester 2: 2. November – March
Study period as per the curriculum
- Students may complete the required course credits within five academic years.
